Mother: Piya, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there’s something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it’s about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I’ve done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you’ve had.’
Piya shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made.
This was what they did after certain time:
Our Prejudiced Views are our Liabilities
Our Creative Ideas are our Assets
Heart is our Current Asset
‘Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.’ – Barack Obama
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present.
The result being that he does not live in the present or future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
Pencil: “I’m sorry….”
Eraser: “For what? You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Pencil: “I’m sorry coz you get hurt becoz of me. Whenever I made a mistake,
you’re always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you
lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.”
Eraser: “That’s true. But I don’t really mind. You see, I was made to do
this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though
one day, I know I’ll be gone and you’ll replace me with a new one, I’m
actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.”
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.
He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, “How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom… it died.
So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
The illiterate of the 21st century are not those who can not read or write but those who can not learn unlearn and relearn.

It is not work that kills men, it is worry……
Work is healthy;
you can hardly put more on a man than he can bear
But worry is rust upon the blade.
It is not movement that destroys the machinery, but friction.
